Carlow College celebrates Annual Clergy Alumni Reunion

Carlow College celebrated its annual clergy alumni reunion on 20 and 21 July 2022.  Alumni returned from all corners of Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and were welcomed by Fr Conn Ó Maoldhomhnaigh, College President.

To mark the occasion, Mass was celebrated in the College Chapel by Bishop Paul Dempsey, who is this year celebrating 25 years as a priest and who was ordained Bishop of Achonry on 30 August 2020.  The homilist was Fr Ronnie Madden, who travelled from the Diocese of Savannah, USA for the Reunion.

In attendance for the celebrations was Bishop Larry Duffy, Bishop of Clogher who was ordained from the College in June 1976 and Bishop Denis Nulty, Chair of the College’s Governing Body and Chair of the Property Trustees.  Sr Mary Murphy, a past staff member and Chaplain who passed away on 5 July this year, was also remembered at the Mass.

To complete the celebrations, alumni enjoyed a banquet of food prepared by Julie Lyons, Catering Manager and her team.
