IT Support

IT Services are responsible for the coordination of information and communications technology (ICT) planning for the College. Our aim, through working collaboratively with the College community is to integrate technology that delivers a solid IT infrastructure to empower the College to achieve its strategic goals.  

The IT Services department is responsible for the maintenance and development of all college IT facilities including general computing facilities for staff and students, data and phone networks, e-mail facilities and student management systems. We deliver ICT management, advisory and support services to College staff and students.

IT Security

IT services are responsible for the security of all technological systems and infrastructure to ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of all data within Carlow College St. Patricks. To ensure a secure environment, IT services keep faculty and students up to date with the latest security technologies through implementation of policies and procedures

 

College Email

Microsoft Office 365 is used for all college email accounts and can be accessed from any device at any location whether you are at home or away. Each registered student is given a college email account through which all college email correspondence will be communicated through. You can access your college email by clicking here.

 

Cloud Storage

IT Services provide a significant quota for file storage on cloud for all staff and faculty through One Drive which can be accessed from any device at any location. Use of cloud storage is encouraged for both security purposes and as a means of easy access to important academic work.

 

Virtual Learning Environment

All registered students have access to Moodle which is used as the virtual learning environment for the college. Students can access lecture notes and submit assignments through this platform from any location on any device.

 

Student Gateway

As part of the College student record system Quercus, students can access their academic record for an overview of results, attendance and payment details

 

Student Training

As part of the ongoing requirement to upskill students and staff on digital skills, IT Services offer users training modules as part of the Microsoft Imagine Academy program, with full access to online tutorials and examinations.

 

Wi-Fi

IT Services offer wireless connectivity campus wide which can be used on personal devices. Printing Services IT Services host a number of network printing services in our library building. Each student is assigned a printing account and can manage all of their printing needs through their student login.

 

Access to PC’s

A number of student PCs are available in our library building which can be accessed by all registered students. Additionally, and IT training room is available to faculty and students for workshops, training and communicating new technologies.
