Close to Home

I chose to study at carlow college because it was closer to my home, and I learned from my friends who studied at the college before me, that there was a lot of support for students in the college.

Social Justice

The part I love most in my chosen course was the fact that it was about social justice, advocating for vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals. It is about giving voice to the voiceless and bringing awareness to issues that certain community group face and how those issues can be dealt with to bring about social change.

Confidence Building

My degree have enhanced my abilities to advocate for the vulnerable individuals and groups, it has provided me with the knowledge of several societal issues. Prior to this degree, I didn’t have the confidence to speak in public or to speak up for myself and I didn’t even know my rights as a person. However, through my degree all that changed, to the extent that I decided to further my studies on social science.

Inclusive Atmosphere

Carlow College St Patrick’s is a great institution for anyone to study at, no matter their race, beliefs or gender. The lectures are very well spoken and students are encouraged to ask for support from the lecturers for more understanding.

Politics and Society can be studied through our BA (Hons) in Arts & Humanities, information on this course can be found here.
