We are pleased to see that Fr Michael McCarthy’s book Like a Tree Cut Back, was posthumously published this year.

Fr Michael was invited back to Carlow by Fr Conn Ó Maoldhomhnaigh, College President, to take up the role of the College’s first Poet-in-Residence in the Autumn of 2017.  During his time back in Carlow College, he immersed himself in College life working closely with staff and students, giving creative writing seminars and poetry readings, and wrote this compelling piece of work as a tribute to his Alma Mater.
