Introduction

Carlow College, St. Patrick’s is fully committed to achieve equality of opportunity for all staff, irrespective of their gender, and has put in place key action plans to work toward achievement of gender equality.

As part of our commitment to the Athena SWAN Charter, we are working on the implementation of a gender equality action plan within the College. This work is fully supported by the President and Management Board.

Carlow College, along with all other HEIs, provides annual reports on student data to the Higher Education Authority.  You can review all reports and information on the HEA Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality website.

Gender Pay Gap Report

In line with the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021, Carlow College, St. Patrick’s published its Gender Pay Gap Report 2025 in October 2025.

The Gender Pay Gap is an equality measure that shows the difference between the average earnings of all men versus that of all women in an organisation.

The report provides also outlines the actions we are taking to promote fairness, inclusion, and equality in the workplace.
