Carlow College, St. Patrick’s is excited to be hosting a Round-Table Discussion for social care workers, practice educators supervising students on placement, and social care educators in partnership with Social Care Ireland.
Social Care Work is now emerging as a profession in its own right. Changes to the regulatory context, impending registration with CORU and the publication of the Standards of Proficiency for Social Care Workers (2017) have stimulated discussion on what we do and how we do it.
Following on from the publication of the IJASS Special Edition on the Standards of Proficiency (2020), this round table event offers an opportunity to get together to consider the social care proficiencies, to discuss what they mean for social care and the professional identity of social care workers in Ireland.
