Wonderful to see one of our past graduates, Megan Berry, recognised as some of the best new talent in Ireland in The Irish Times 50 People to Watch in 2022.
Megan studied Social Care with Carlow College, St Patrick’s and has gone on to become an advocate in helping to increase Traveller numbers in education. After recently completing her Masters in Community and Youth Work at Maynooth University, Megan has taken on the role of Traveller Outreach Officer with Maynooth.
Speaking to The Irish Times, Megan says “I see my role in coming years to really increase Traveller numbers in education. It’s about being present and being representative. I can’t represent all Travellers, I am very aware of that, but I can be that voice to make sure the Travellers’ perspective is included and at the table.”
We wish her every success in her role with Maynooth University.
