Dr Noel Kavanagh is a lecturer in Philosophy at the Department of Humanities, Carlow College. A native of Kildare, he entered third level education as a mature student in 1992, gaining his Ph.D. at Maynooth University in 2005. His primary area of interest is the concept of love in philosophy and culture. Current areas of research include phenomenological psychology and the interconnections between philosophy, psychoanalysis and Literature. He is the author of several articles and presentations on these topics. Recent publications include ‘The Application and Uses of Ethics in Early Childhood Education and Care’ in Early Childhood Education and Care: An Introduction for Students in Ireland, edited by Maire Mhic Mhathuna and Dr Mark Taylor, Gill and Macmillan and ‘Post Modern Mods’ in Sussed: A Guide to Modernism.
Noel’s primary areas of research include phenomenological psychology and the interconnections between philosophy, psychoanalysis and Literature.
