Adam graduated with a BA (Hons) in English & History in 2016 and has recently established his own Digital Marketing consultancy and intends to commence a PhD in marketing in 2024.
My career path after graduation
After finishing my degree, I spent some time as the Students’ Union President working to improve the student experience at Carlow College alongside the staff. During that time I developed an interest in marketing which led to me working for Forest Rock, an engineering company in the UK. From there I went on to pursue a Masters in Digital Marketing where I graduated with a first class honours. Since then I have worked remotely from Carlow in the UK Games industry as part of agencies, publishers, and studios.
Most recently I’ve been in discussions with SETU Carlow to begin a PhD within the field of marketing in 2024, and so I am establishing my own consultancy to continue working part-time in the games industry while I pursue my PhD.
Skills development
Carlow College helped to build my skills in critical thinking, research skills, interpersonal skills, and impactful writing. All of these are invaluable skills that I use every day in my marketing career.
My degree in English & History really helped me to conduct effective research that allows me to devise impactful marketing campaigns based on best practice with room for creative innovation, a perfect blend of the fields of English and History in my opinion.
Career highlights
I designed and led a ‘Marketing Masterclass’ for Meta’s Launchpad program for VR developers, helping new game developers understand the basics of marketing their games in the current digital landscape.
