A delegation from the Hunan Province of the People’s Republic of China, led by its Governor Xu Dazhe, signed a Letter of Friendship with County Carlow yesterday, Monday April 1st. As part of their tour of Carlow the delegation visited Carlow College, where they were greeted by a beautiful rendition of ‘Danny Boy’ by the very talented Aspiro Choir. President of the College, Fr Conn Ó Maoldhomhnaigh presented Governor Xu Dazhe and his delegation with Carlow College memorabilia. A tour of the College followed, where the delegation heard about its’ long-standing history in our PJ Brophy Library and were shown some of our archival collections in the Delany Archive.
