Dr Regina Donlon receives Award of Commendation for her book German and Irish immigrants in the Midwestern United States, 1850-1900

Last year, our Irish History lecturer, Dr Regina Donlon, published a book on German and Irish immigration to the American Midwest. On Friday, 8 November, Dr Donlon’s publication received an Award of Commendation at the 45th Annual Concordia Historical Institute Awards in St Louis, Missouri in recognition of how her research has advanced the study and appreciation of Lutheran History in North America. Dr Donlon’s work was nominated and chosen from over one hundred 2018 publications to receive the Award of Commendation. The institute was founded in 1927 to advance the history or Lutheranism in North America and since 1974 the institute publically acknowledges the work of historians in this endeavour.
