Carlow College History Lecturer Dr Elaine Callinan will launch a book Michael Governey (1852-1924) by Eugene Carbery on Tuesday 6th November, at 8pm in the Town Hall, Haymarket, Carlow. This book tells the story of Eugene’s grandfather Michael and his life in a greatly changing Ireland including the 1916 Easter Rising and its continuing turbulent aftermath when his principles would be tested to the limit.
