Carlow College, St Patrick’s, welcomed alumni from across Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States for its annual reunion on Wednesday, 17 July 2025.

The day began with Mass which was celebrated by Msgr John McEvoy, College Vice President and Parish Priest in Rathvilly, Co Carlow. Among those in attendance was Bishop Denis Nulty, Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin and Chair of the College’s Governing Body and Property Trustees, who joined alumni and staff for the gathering.
Following Mass, alumni came together for a celebratory lunch, where they were welcomed by College President, Fr Conn O’Maoldhomhnaigh. Dr Eric Derr, College Vice President, delivered an informative presentation on recent developments at the College—including student numbers, campus events, and academic initiatives from the past year.
A special highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of an award to former College President, Msgr John McDonald, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Carlow College and in celebration of his diamond jubilee of ordination. The gesture was received with heartfelt applause from those present.
