Jenny Fahy

Lecturer in Creative Studies and Community Mental Health

Biography

Jenny Fahy lectures in the field of Creative Studies and Community Mental Health and Wellbeing. She has always sought to create social change and to solve social problems, through creative action. She identifies as a creative, curious person, who enjoys a varied working life. She worked with a puppet theatre company in Ireland for a number of years and trained in New York as a 5Rhythms movement meditation teacher with Gabrielle Roth. After she decided to study social care, she worked as a community-based Family Support Worker, an outreach worker in a Domestic Abuse service provider and in a school completion programme in the Mid-West.

Since 2018, she has led the development and growth of Life Connections, a social enterprise, which provides vital services to parents and guardians to enable them to develop the skills to have healthy conversations with their children about important topics such as relationships, sexuality, the body, feelings and consent. Jenny believes that our children and teens need support, education and guidance to foster safe and healthy relationships, now and into their futures.
