Our European History Lecturer Dr Ida Milne was on The Tonight Show on Virgin Media One chatting to Matt Cooper on Tuesday 24th November about the history of pandemics and what history tells us about going back to the way things were after a pandemic has passed.

Dr Milne talks about how pandemics such as the Spanish Flu and how it was quickly forgotten after its passing as people had to deal with the World War 1 as well as the revolutionary period here in Ireland and had been through a very traumatic time. She talks about cycles of pandemics in history and they estimate there have been 14 influenza outbreaks since the 1500’s. You can view the full episode here.
