Carlow College proudly announces the graduation of the first cohort from its Higher Diploma in Politics & Society programme, awarded by the South East Technological University (SETU) at is Conferring Ceremony on Friday, 1st November. Ten students graduated from the first intake of the Higher Diploma in Politics & Society.
Launched in late 2022, the Higher Diploma in Politics & Society has seen its inaugural graduates successfully complete this unique postgraduate programme, aimed at upskilling post-primary teachers and those interested in careers in politics, human rights and advocacy sectors.
Steph Hanlon, Programme Director for the Higher Diploma in Politics & Society, expressed pride in the inaugural class, stating, “We are thrilled to witness the first graduates of the Higher Diploma in Politics & Society programme. As it’s such a unique programme in the South-East, we have seen interest grow from both post-primary teachers, as well as those working in relevant fields and lifelong learners.”
Carlow College Vice President for Academic Affairs and Registrar, Dr Margaret Murphy, said it was a “momentous” day for the College, stating “this is a very proud day for Carlow College to see the first cohort of graduates from the Higher Diploma in Politics & Society, many of whom are already making significant contributions to the study of politics and society in secondary schools across the country.”
The Higher Diploma in Politics & Society is designed and delivered by Carlow College and is validated and awarded by SETU.
