Scholarships

At Carlow College, our philosophy places our students at the centre of everything we do. To help support students, we offer a number of scholarships to our students in recognition of their academic achievements.   

Entrance Scholarships

Our Entrance scholarships include: 

  • An Academic Achievement Entrance Scholarship 
  • A Mature Student Entrance Scholarship 


Academic Achievement Entrance Scholarship – €500 

Incoming students will be awarded an Academic Achievement Entrance Scholarship by gaining the highest CAO points through their Leaving Certificate examination. This scholarship will be awarded to the highest point earner on each undergraduate programme. 


Mature Student Entrance Scholarship –
€500 

Incoming mature students will be awarded a Mature Student Entrance Scholarship by gaining the highest grade point average (GPA) in semester one of their academic programme, subject to a minimum GPA of 70%. This scholarship will be awarded to one successful applicant on each undergraduate programme. 

Uversity Scholarships

Mature students applying to Carlow College, St. Patrick’s can now apply for the Higher Education Scholarship for Adult Learners through Uversity .

Uversity’s Scholarships will provide financial support to individuals 23 years or older who wish to purse a Bachelor’s degree provided by Carlow College, St. Patrick’s. Aside from the direct costs of tuition, fees, books and IT there are day to day living costs such as childcare and transport to be taken care of to enable full-time education. The Uversity Scholarships take account of each individual’s circumstances and aim to provide full financial support for the full period of study. 

The Scholarship will cover some or all of the following costs: 

  • Registration & tuition fees 
  • Pre-enrolment education assessments if required 
  • Laptop, books and other materials 
  • Wifi and telephone access 
  • Transportation 
  • Childcare/Family support 
  • Living expenses e.g. accommodation/maintenance etc.

Progression Scholarship

Upon completion of stages 1-3, the student who gains the highest grade point average (GPA) at 70% or above in each undergraduate academic programme will be awarded a Progression Scholarship. The amount awarded for each scholarship will be €500.
