Dr Ida Milne on RTE Primetime feature about lessons from the Spanish Flu

Lecturer in History, Dr Ida Milne, featured on last week’s RTE Primetime report discussing lessons from the Spanish Flu.

Part of the Primetime feature was filmed in the P.J. Brophy library at Carlow College, St Patrick’s and focused around what lessons from the Spanish Flu we can take during the current pandemic, particular around how it ended and what the future might hold.

“Pandemics don’t end with a bang – they end with a fizzle”, Dr Milne, the author of Stacking The Coffins: Influenza, War and Revolution in Ireland 1918-1919, said.
