Vice President for Education
Hi guys, my name is Adam Kane. I’m from Bagenalstown and I am your Vice President for Education and Communications for the academic year 2017-2018. I am also a 3rd year BA (Hons) English and History student.
My plans for the year are to assist with our first ever NStEP Session and to coordinate our Class Reps for the year! As the VP for Education I also aim to be available to any student struggling with their SUSI Grant who might need some help!
I am here to help you get the most out of your time here at Carlow College.
Vice President for Welfare
Hi everyone, I am Daniel O’Keeffe and a second year BA Social Care student here at Carlow College, St. Patrick's. I’m from Athy and I also DJ at Scraggs Alley! Firstly, I would like to congratulate our returning students on passing their exams and we look forward to seeing all your faces. I also wish to extend a huge welcome to the incoming first year students, yes, it is overwhelming but after the first week that will change!
My job as Welfare Officer is to communicate your needs on several matters relating to welfare, including mental, physical, and sexual health, as well as your accommodation and budgeting issues between the Students Union and the college. I am here to provide you with the advice that makes you feel better physically, mentally, and nutritionally; Carlow College, St. Patrick's provides all these services for its students.
Throughout the year I will be running different campaigns regarding students’ welfare such as Mental Health Awareness Week, Healthy Living Week, and SHAG (Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance) Week.
With all this in mind, if you feel that any of the issues mentioned above appeal to you, then please do not hesitate to contact me in the Student Union Office. Have a great year everybody and keep safe!
