|Dr Richard Mc Mahon is Assistant Professor of History in the Department of History, Trinity College Dublin. As part of an inter-institutional co-operation agreement with Trinity College Dublin he lectures in modern Irish history at Carlow College. A Galway man he holds his B.A. and M.A. degrees from NUI-Galway and his Ph.D. from UCD. In Ireland he has worked at Maynooth University; in England at Liverpool University, in Scotland at the universities of Dundee and Edinburgh; and in the United States at the universities of New York and Stanford. He is the author of Homicide in pre-Famine and Famine Ireland (Liverpool, 2012), and the editor of Crime, law and popular culture in Europe (2008) among other works.
