Areas of Interest
Following over ten years working in the Irish film industry, Dr Clare Scully has lectured in media, film and cultural studies for over nine years at various institutions. Her research interests are focused on the intersections between critical, cultural and media theory as well as in qualitative research methods. At Carlow College, Clare teaches Media Studies (with an emphasis on cinema, documentary and the long form television serial narrative) and Communication Studies (with a particular emphasis on contemporary forms of mediated communication and their relationship to culture/society).
