All A.C.C.S. students are required to register formally with the College. ID cards are issued once a student is fully registered. This permits full access to the Library with borrowing privileges and entry to examinations. All students must produce their ID card on request by any member of College personnel. If an ID card is misplaced a replacement can be obtained on payment of a €10 fee from Reception.
An Induction Day for new students is held each year in September prior to the commencement of studies. Details are communicated to students early in September subject to the confirmation of the acceptance of a course place. A Student Handbook & Academic Guide for each programme of study is also available for A.C.C.S. students.
Attendance at Lectures
Students are required to attend lectures and tutorials relating to the programme of study for which they have registered. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they are up-to-date with timetable details and to check the notice board regularly. Unavoidable absences due to illness or personal circumstances should be communicated to the Central Administration Office as soon as possible with any supporting documentation such as doctor’s certificates, appointment letters and so on.
All A.C.C.S. students are assigned an Academic Advisor whose role is to meet with students, on an appointment basis, to discuss matters adversely affecting student performance; to deal with requests for extensions in relation to course submissions; to monitor student attendance and where appropriate, to liaise with other Student Support Services.
