International Women's Day (IWD) on March 8th is an important opportunity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women as visibility and awareness help drive positive action for gender equality.  Carlow College in partnership with Carlow County Development Partnership CLG (SICAP), Carlow County Women’s Network and Visual, are hosting a Women’s Day event in the College.  This event will showcase the achievements of women in Carlow and highlight some of the key issues in advancing gender equality locally, nationally and internationally.

The Slattery Lecture Series will begin on 24th January 2017 with Prof. Dan MacRaild from the University of Ulster presenting his lecture on Politics and Improvement: 'Hibernianism in Ireland's 19th Century Diaspora'. The Lecture Series will run until the 7th of February 2017.
